In 2023, an outstanding 59% of our girls achieved an ATAR of 85+, placing them in the top 15% of students nationally.
Fahan School has always had one of the highest percentage of Year 12 students achieving university entrance in the State. "What makes these results all the more remarkable is Fahan's non-selective enrolment process. We pride ourselves on helping each student become the best she can be." Principal, Mrs Meg Lawson.
Fahan alumna and 2010 Tasmanian Rhodes Scholar recipient, Rhea Longley agrees. "I am a firm believer in the opportunity small class sizes give students to learn and mature. I had such great, supportive, inspirational teachers who believed in every one of us and made sure we were equipped to achieve what we wanted in later life," said Rhea.
Rhea undertook her PhD at Oxford University, where she studied Malaria Immunology and researched into helping find a vaccine for malaria. Rhea has now been able to take a joint postdoctoral position between the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne and Mahidol Uni, Thailand, enabling her to conduct malaria research in a malaria-endemic setting.
