In 2022, Fahan School Year 12 students are raising much needed funds for their chosen Tasmanian charities, The Variety Freya Fund and Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS). The Variety Freya Fund provides financial support to families of children with profound disabilities or illnesses through one-off donations that allow the family respite care. Fahan’s very own teacher, Mr John Williamson, set up the charity as a legacy for his daughter, Freya. SASS is a free, confidential service for people of all ages who have been affected by any form of sexual violence. SASS’s mission is to help eliminate all forms of sexual violence at local, national, and global levels.
In April and May, our Year 12 students ran a very successful fundraising campaign and, with the support of Subaru Hobart, organised a “WIN A CAR” raffle where the lucky recipient could win a brand new, 2022 Subaru XV 2.0i L CVT Hatch including all customer on road costs, 5 year unlimited km warranty and 5 years of capped price servicing. With a total prize pool of $37,208 and tickets only $100 each and limited to 500, the fundraiser was very popular with the Fahan Community and tickets sold out a week before the end date.
Their incredible efforts have led to a record-breaking fundraiser with all proceeds going to two very important Tasmanian Charities. Thank you to Subaru Hobart and all who purchased a ticket and supported this valuable fundraiser.
The winner was drawn today and we are delighted to announce Bec O’Halloran (ticket #55) will take home a brand new, 2022 Subaru XV. Congratulations Bec!
