On Friday 7 May, Fahan competed in the All Schools State Mountain Biking Championships at Trevallyn Recreation Area in Launceston. We had some fantastic individual results but also scored enough team points to be awarded first placed school overall, an amazing achievement!
The main event is a cross country course where riders complete 2-4 laps, depending on age. This year also saw the introduction of a timed downhill enduro challenge where competitors rode a short section of downhill track and received points based on individual time.
Fahan entered a team of 22 riders in U15, U17 and U19 categories. We are extremely proud of the girls' positive attitude and the kindness shown to each other and other competitors on the day. In the female age-based categories, the U15 girls came third, U17 girls won their category and U19 came third. There were also some fantastic individual results with Abbey Willcox finishing in 2nd place for U17 Female and Alice Evans in 5th place in U15 Female.
