Jessica Hutchinson graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History and Linguistics, from the University of New England. She also completed a Diploma in Modern Languages in Japanese and holds a Master of Teaching (Secondary), specialising in History, Japanese, and English as an Additional Language/Dialect.
Her passion for languages began in primary school when she was first introduced to Japanese. This early exposure sparked a lifelong interest in language acquisition and sociolinguistics.
Jessica's journey with Fahan began in 2021 when she completed her first practicum as a student teacher. During this time, she recognised Fahan as a supportive and collegial environment where expert educators worked tirelessly to create a challenging and inclusive academic setting. After spending three years teaching in Catholic education, she feels privileged to return to Fahan as a Japanese and Humanities teacher.
As an early career teacher, Jessica is eager to continue learning and developing her practice. She is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside experienced educators in Fahan’s nurturing and dynamic learning environment.
