25 February 2016
On Friday 19 February, the Parents’ and Friends’ Association hosted its annual Sunset Under The Sails evening. With numbers of over 200 parents, staff and children, it was a most enjoyable event.
Many new families to the School were in attendance. All guests enjoyed hot pizza, served by students, while they listened to Andrea Smith, from Cuisenaire, who entertained everyone with their jazz, blues and soul beats.
Families were also welcomed to tour the recently refurbished Middle School and were impressed with the extension. The project, designed and managed by Tim Penny Architects, included upgrades and extensions to a number of classrooms, a new parent-teacher meeting space and staff work room.
Principal, Mr Tony Freeman welcomed all new families and introduced members of the Board and Fahan teachers. Mr Freeman also spoke of the vital role the P&F plays within the School.
“I would encourage all of our parents to become involved with the P&F as it is a truly integral part of our School’s community,” said Mr Freeman.
He then handed over to P&F President, Mrs Gillian Vosper, who expressed her delight at seeing such a large attendance, especially so many new families.
Gillian thanked everyone for attending and extended an invitation for people to become involved in the upcoming P&F events. The events for 2016 include:
P&F AGM – Tuesday 15 March
Movie Night – Friday 1 July
Fahan School Fair – Sunday 18 September
P&F End of Year BBQ – Friday 18 November
The P&F hold meetings every 3rd Tuesday of the month, during Term, in the Nateby Boardroom at 7pm, all welcome to attend.
