26 February 2013
On Friday 22 February, the Parents’ and Friends’ Association hosted its annual Sunset Under The Sails evening. With over 180 parents, staff and children it was the biggest turnout yet.
Many new families to the School were in attendance. All guests enjoyed refreshments and hot pizza served by the Year 12 Leaders, while listening to Andrea Smith, from Soul Fish, who entertained everyone with her jazz, blues and soul beats.
Principal, Mr Tony Freeman welcomed all new families and introduced the new staff members at Fahan School this year. He also acknowledged the design and project management of Tim Penny Architecture and Interiors in the successful redevelopment of the Senior School Building. Tony then invited all guests to view these results first hand – led by our Year 12 Leaders who conducted tours throughout the evening.
Mr Freeman then spoke of the vital role the P&F plays within the School. “I would encourage all of our parents to become involved with the P&F as it is a truly integral part of our School’s community.”
He then handed over to P&F President, Mr Carl Cazaly, who expressed his delight at seeing such a large attendance, especially so many new families.
Carl thanked everyone for attending and extended an invitation for people to become involved in the upcoming P&F events. The events for 2013 include:
Movie Night – Friday 28 June
Gala Ball – Saturday 24 August
P&F BBQ – Friday 22 November
The P&F hold meetings every 3rd Tuesday in the Nateby Boardroom at 7pm, all welcome to attend.
