On Tuesday 9 March, The Hutchins School hosted a wonderful International Women’s Day Dinner. Student leaders from Fahan, The Hutchins School and St Michael’s Collegiate, as well Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner AC spoke on this year’s theme ‘Choose to Challenge’ to an inspired audience.
Fahan Head Girl, Miranda Jones, delivered a powerful speech and we are proud to share with you an excerpt of her talk below:
"Today, I call for the equality of all women. For every woman in this room and across the world. For the women of colour, women who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, women who are on the spectrum, women who are battling mental illness, women who are survivors of sexual, emotional or physical assault; every single woman out there. We all deserve love, compassion, protection and respect. Opportunities should be available in equal amounts to all genders. This starts here, with us today, through educating and beginning conversations."
